Cambridgeshire Umpires attend Regional Tournament

The annual Regional Schools Tournament was held again this year down in Grays in Essex. The tournament is to decide which Schools will go forward for the National Schools finals for U14, U16 & U19 levels. This tournament is used by the East Region Officiating mentors as a great opportunity for all County Lead mentors to encourage & mentor our "up & coming" umpires across the region. Cambridgeshire was extremely well represented by putting forward 5 of our most promising Umpires & one of our top A Award Umpires in the County.

Congratulations go to the following C to B Umpires Andrea Eggleton, Carmen Hannibal-Stewart, Nicola White, Adam Williams & Kat Skivington.

Thanks also go to Lisa Ellis (A Award) for stepping in to ensure all Umpiring slots were covered on the day.

All Umpires worked extremely hard throughout the day with all of our C to B’s being selected for either Finals or Semi-Finals or being talent identified. Cambridgeshire had the most exposure on the day for Umpiring & we should be very proud of all of them for their commitment to the County & to umpiring.

It was agreed by all that this was a fantastic experience for them & a most enjoyable day. Both Jill Harrison & Judy Preece represented Cambridgeshire as County mentors taking on the mentoring responsibilities for umpires from other Counties within the Region.
