Club Safeguarding Officers, Safeguarding Training and New DBS Registration Information

Club Safeguarding Officers

From this season, it has become mandatory for all Clubs to register a Safeguarding Officer.  The CSO should be registered on MyNet when affiliating, or alternatively may complete the England Netball registration form here.

Three stages of training are available:

  • Time to Listen, which is designed specifically for England Netball CSO's.

New DBS Registration Information

The company which carries out England Netball’s Disclosure & Barring Service checking  (TMG CRB) is now called GBGroup and the disclosure service is now known as Online Disclosures.

All applicants need to use the following address to register for a DBS check:

To request a copy of England Netball's DBS flow chart, please contact Naomi Zielinska, CCNA Safeguarding Officer, or Susan Hudson, England Netball Compliance & Inclusion Co-ordinator.

Guidance on the application process is available  at

Additional information about DBS checking can be found on the England Netball website.  To request EN's Organisation PIN and secret word required to register, please contact Naomi or Susan as above, or Janette Bowden.

Safeguarding Adults at Risk

England Netball are currently developing a Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policy which will be communicated once it’s in place.  The Safeguarding News currently circulated to CSOs focuses on safeguarding young people in netball but the information may help those with adults at risk in their club. EN will consider how to develop resources to support those CSOs in clubs which only have adults at risk as they develop the Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policy.
