Dear Members,

I am deeply saddened to have to write and tell you of the passing of one of our members Karen Walker. Karen had been a member of our Netball family for a great many years. Her roles within the County included being the Head coach of the adult section from the late '90s for many years. A founder member of Jaguars Netball Club and then an original member of the then newly formed Co-Jags Karen was instrumental in the development of netball. Karen helped and assisted at various clubs within the county and was a stalwart of weekend netball. Many of you would have known Karen in one of her many capacities and I'm sure have fond stories and memories of her. As you are aware, even after her tumour Karen continued to develop and support netballers across the County. She consistently gave a huge amount of time, enthusiasm, and patience to all the netball family.

As her husband says "Karen had a passion for netball which permeated every day of her life, not just the successes but just by being involved and enjoying the whole regime of playing, coaching and umpiring, and helping others to achieve their full potential. Netball just gave her so much fun, so many good friends and so many good times."

As a county, we are sending a donation to Addenbrookes hospital who took great care of Karen over the last 15 years. We will be sending our condolences to the family at this difficult time.
